Elementary & Middle Schools Visits

I love kids and books!  So, putting them together is my best day ever! I take great pleasure in speaking with kids about reading, writing, illustrating and the world of books. I have been working as an illustrator since 2009 and have created books with Compendium, Balzer & Bray, FSG-Macmillan, Knopf and Random House.  My latest book All Are Welcome was a New York Times Bestsellers and I have been fortunate to receive portfolio honors for my work. When speaking to students, I want them to leave inspired to write and illustrate their stories because their stories matter. In my presentation, I show them how a book is made from start to finish, as well as do live drawing to keep them interested and having fun throughout!
